I still find it hard to even describe what I do as being a job. I spend my days with my adorable babies, cooking and photographing food, wandering around the amazing Farmer’s markets in Cork and spending my nights writing about food. It’s so full on and hardly what my career guidance counsellor would have predicted but it’s just what’s right for me.
Now since 2014 has begun things are getting a little busier around here. Events for Ballymaloe Litfest have been revealed and tickets are on sale now! I’m delighted to be involved this year and will be taking part in three events, there are still tickets available for two. I’m sorry to have missed taking part in the food styling talk but it clashed with my demo at the cook school. It’s going to be an amazing weekend though and I really cant wait!
And now for my amazing good news! I was recently asked to be the new food writer for Image Living & Interiors magazine! Hurray! I love that magazine and am really delighted. It’s quite different to what I’m doing in my current regular pieces. It’ll be lots of foodie stories about amazing new places to eat, fantastic events, gorgeous books and Irish produce to look out for. I’m constantly taking note of interesting food related things I spy so now my magpie’s eye can be put to good use! There’ll be two pages full of news in the magazine and lots more additional info on line so get in touch if you have any exciting food news or events coming up!
I have another fun ( and delicious ) project that will be kicking off next weekend so will post about it here during the week. Till then enjoy the rest of the weekend!
